Birthday Boy

It’s Merlin’s birthday today. He is 7 years old. He celebrated with a big run in the field with another German Shorthaired Pointer called Rufus and some treats to eat.

On the day he was born in Wiltshire it was cold and snowy and when I first met him at four weeks old, he was snuggled up with his Mum and five brothers and sisters in front of a log burning stove.

Then, I didn’t realise the dedication required to care for him, nor how much he would give to us or how much I would learn from him. Thanks Merlin for your kindness, your joy in the moment, and your enthusiasm for life. You’ve enriched our lives more than we could have ever imagined.
