Look Out

Colour on a grey day

To Manchester this morning, first to the Apple Store. I learnt that 150 people work there, speaking 27 languages. I traded in three items, the two young ladies who helped me out were excellent.

I then met up with a friend for lunch at the Art Gallery café. I gave her a book, just published under the auspices of the Trust I am a trustee of, with a forward written by elected mayor Andy Burnham. She’ll make sure he gets his copy.

I then headed to the Northern Quarter and an art shop, for some items to assist my watercolour painting. The course finishes soon, and I can’t do the next course, so I am going to try reinforcing what I’ve learnt at home.

On my return I passed the cathedral, where footballer Dennis Law’s funeral was taking place. Nearby, outside a pub, Real Madrid fans were enjoying themselves, before the game against City tonight. Football is never far away in Manchester.

It has been a thoroughly grey, drab, drizzly day, so I have chosen this bonkers but bright mural for today’s photo - my first on the new phone.
