A surprise sighting in Hoxton

I popped into the Museum of the Home this afternoon for a catch up and bite to eat.

The last time I visited there were 20th Century room sets in the round exhibition space. This time they had asked the local community to become involved in dressing the spaces, reflecting immigration as well as cultural changes.

I have to admit not to have seen this Ministry of Sound poster featuring the head of Margaret Thatcher before. It was in the 2005 room. I was even more surprised to discover it had been chosen by an LGBTQI group (you may remember Clause 28).

I read a bit more about the satirical collage from Musik Magazine and realised that making her a disco diva effectively removes her power. Clever, compared to more mainstream satirical images of the time.
