Ted
This is Ted. We meet at a local greasy spoon diner about once a month for breakfast. I first knew Ted in my first year of teaching in Klamath Falls. For those of you outside of Oregon, K. Falls is about five hours southeast of our home here in the Willamette Valley. Ted was the principal at Klamath Union High School, our cross town rival at Mazama High where I taught. Ted is from the Salem area, and resides here now. He just started radiation treatment for prostate cancer, and he feels hopeful and positive about the outcome. At 85, I guess the years after that are icing on the cake. Ted has been a huge supporter of my writing, so I brought a signed copy of my latest book for him. He bought my breakfast in exchange. Ted, one of the good guys.
