Grieving

This little pin was a gift to me from Clare, who knows I share her feelings about this.  I've pinned it to my winter hat.  I have been in such low spirits for the last few days, trying to comprehend the awful things that the megalomaniac and his friends are doing, and I'm having bit of trouble bouncing back.  

I'm 77 and over the course of my life this country has seen a steady progression toward a multi-cultural society, with equal rights for all.  Women's rights have grown enormously in that time span.  Yet now it all seems to be taken away overnight.  How is this possible?  How can discrimination and racism once again be rampant, when we'd made such progress?  How can one man decide that America is no longer American?
