Hanging On To A Windscreen Wiper Tiger's Tale
Luckily we managed to escape any effects of the latest seasonal storm, Storm Eowyn, unlike some other parts of the country but the wind was still very gusty when we headed out for our usual morning run.
We weren't feeling particularly adventurous today so we only ventured as far as our local, The Chequers, for a pint and then the short stroll out to The Friars (our local Carmelite Priory).
We had a lovely amble around the grounds but instead of any images of the historic surroundings (I couldn't get a shot I was happy with), parts of which date back to the 13th Century, I respectively managed to capture some reflections in a puddle, water droplets on a workshop sign, a grouping of stacked up traffic cones, a row of shipping containers and the tiger themed windscreen wiper of a parked car in the car park! I chose not to inflict any of the first four options on you so I had to hang my hat on the windscreen wiping tiger!
My favourite story of the day had to be an article about Dick Van Dyke's secret to staying healthy at 99, detailing a gym regime that would put some Gen Z fitness routines (and definitely mine!) to shame.
The Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star attributes his physical condition to the fact that he has "always exercised' and that he still goes to the gym three days a week to use weighted machines - he even dances between each set of apparatus - then goes home for a swim before taking a nap. He also incorporates lots of stretching and yoga in his regime.
Despite turning 100 later this year he is still finding work - including recently featuring in a Coldplay music video for their single "All My Love", dancing in bare feet at his home in Malibu.
He thinks it's "insane" that "I go back to 1925" but is looking forward to having a big party to mark his centenary in December. What a dude!
