Tea ladies
The fella is training for some mad run and obstacle course in September so today we went for an 11 mile run / walk / scramble in the Derbyshire Dales. My mum and dad are big walkers so they planned us a route and drew it onto a waterproof map (complete with an extra bit if we were feeling particularly energetic / mad). All we had to do was follow it up and down and up the dales - and I think we did really well. We didn't get lost once and my legs only started to hurt right near the end after we'd run downhill for 3 miles or so.
We bumped into these awesome ladies about 2 hours into our adventure when we found ourself following the route of some charity walk. Despite us not being part of their event, they insisted we had cake (a lovely home made sponge with raisins) and some water. It made my day. I only thought to take a blip picture after we'd started to go hence it being from afar.
After we finished we had to have our picnic in the car like 2 old people out for a drive - but I figured as it was raining outside and I'd just burnt 1168 calories it would have to do.
I didn't realise how much I missed my long Sunday runs before today - though personally I prefer more running and less hills it was a great way to spend the day. We're already planning next week's jaunt - where shall we go?
