Chinatown

Our last day in Singapore but with an evening flight there was still time to explore.
Headed out with a walk through the courtyards of Raffles - too early for coffee, and def too early for a Singapore Sling. Next time.
Not quite with a plan, we found ourselves in Chinatown. Busy busy, although on Mondays some places do close. And very hot. We explored the newly opened Heritage Centre which gave a fascinating insight into how the Chinese first arrived in the country and how people lived in the area - in cramped living conditions and hard working communities.
We looked round the central Buddha temple and museum, and through to the shopping centre.
Time to head back to pick up our luggage and head out to the airport. Waiting for our onward flights to Sydney and then Christchurch we felt we had enjoyed our brief visit to Singapore but were quite ready to leave.
