Skimmia

I didn’t sleep well last night at all and was awake at 4.45am. This is quite unusual for me as I have a very regular sleep pattern. Got up when I was still awake an hour later. At least I managed to catch up with a bit of reading and a few little jobs around the house.
Took Mum for lunch at the Bear’s Paw - it was delicious and excellent service.

Back at her house, she has a weird aroma in the downstairs back room that we can all smell but none of us can put our finger on exactly what it is or smells like. I think it’s like a cross between a cleaning chemically smell and a sweet smelling smell. She says she hasn’t done any cleaning in there for ages(it’s not a room she uses very often) and it’s not anywhere else in the house. It’s a complete mystery. I’ve even tried googling it but not come up with anything it could be. Any ideas?

This is just a quick blip from her garden whilst we were there pulling the dustbin round - she says it was a Skimmia.
