Rosa
This is the first part of my botanical art course assignment 3. I am now edging towards using COLOUR!! This stage means shading with tones of grey pencils. I found it incredibly daunting - I had never worked this way before with colour pencil, shading in grey then moving on from dark to light in colour. Before the course, I only had a few grey pencils, after all, what did I need such a dreary colour for?
I quickly bought some more and took the plunge. The next stage is to repeat the whole exercise but then start introducing the colours. I really can't wait. This will be a gorgeous ruby red rose (I hope).
As this is my first attempt, I have my back up plan of 'Take Two' with my orange flowered Clivia Miniata, which I showed here a few days ago done in pen. I want to draw it, whether or not I use it for my assignment.
