Clyde Walkway
I finally got around to recceing the first stage of the Clyde Walkway starting at the MacLennan arch on Glasgow Green and finishing at Cambuslang. I’ve done it with others several times but doing it solo always unearths something new. I discovered an 1800 access rights dispute which was won by the weavers, and the story behind the stones in the Cuningar Loop.
Sufficiently enthused I got the walk written up on the system.
Near home I met my almost 90 neighbour who was setting out for his daily walk around the park. He’s been using the Merlin bird app and was excited to tell me it had identified a nuthatch. I was equally delighted.
And most satisfying, my Garmin watch is now working. Not having used it since I last ran outdoors in December it had seemingly entered torpor. I’ll need to measure today’s distance in the old fashioned way, or at least the digital equivalent of string and a tape measure.
