Joy is not Made to be a Crumb
Spent the morning waxing the butter yellow sideboard I painted yesterday. Mike has been fitting the skirting boards you see here and adapting the sideboard to fit over them. Should have taken a before photo of the furniture - it's an old piece Padre Luís gave us years ago, which was in a mess. Looks good now, not perfect, but a lot better.
Cecílio and Ermelinda arriving for dinner, will do gratefuls afterwards...
Gratefuls:
- our friendship with C and E; always good to spend an evening with them
- walking into town this afternoon; it's such a beautiful time of year
- freshly cleaned house; the bonus of having visitors
And here, a poem for Valentine's Day, or any day - "Don't Hesitate", by Mary Oliver: Joy is not made to be a crumb.
