INTO PORT
The sun came out today, despite yesterday's gloomy forecast - hooray! I didn't manage to get out and enjoy it until it was just about to disappear this afternoon - boo! However, handyman Mariusz came this morning to change two pendant ceiling lights, one in the hall and one in the stairwell, which we've disliked since moving in but have only just got around to finding acceptable replacements. We couldn't bear to watch him working over the stairwell from a ladder at the top of the stairs. After he'd gone I had to go to a business estate outside Peterlee to collect a guitar for B, and then come straight home with it! Then lunch and loading the car with stuff for the recycling centre so by the time I blipped two pilot boats escorting the Stinnes Passat into Hartlepool Port and dwarfing the houses on the Town Wall, the sun was disappearing behind dark clouds and some unpleasant wintry rain was just beginning. I looked up the ship and it's a general cargo vessel that had just come up the coast from Immingham.
