Final derby at Goodison strikes a familiar chord
There is going to be a big snow day tomorrow, well tonight actually, but we’ll feel the consequences tomorrow. It was the day I had planned to get my laptop in for repair, but I’ll have to delay. I could have taken it in today, but there is a Liverpool game this afternoon – the last Merseyside derby at Goodison – and I don’t want to take the chance of not seeing that. I spent a fair part of the day sorting through the box of goodies I got from the UK yesterday. Mostly books and football thingies – all stuff that needs putting in the appropriate place. Mrs. Ottawacker has been semi-instructed to go to a charity do this evening, which is something she is not overly keen to do, especially given the incoming snow.
The derby again was very eventful, ending in a 2-2 draw. The match featured an abysmal refereeing performance by Michael Oliver. How he still gets games of this magnitude is beyond me. He is woeful, and made a number of ridiculous decisions (against both sides). Both Everton goals were directly his responsibility (an imaginary free kick for the first one and then missing a clear foul on Konate for the second). I can understand why he gave the second one though…
The game was also frustrating because Microsoft pushed through new updates. You get the option to delay their implementation – which I did, delaying it by a week. Then the implementation of the updates took place anyway. This caused the feed of the game to buffer and then stop completely. I think I am serious about this being my last Microsoft product… but, is Apple any better?
Cooked pasta alfredo for Ottawacker Jr. and myself for dinner – and Mrs. Ottawacker came back unscathed around 8.30 – a good 2-3 hours earlier than planned. The snow had started…
