Where the old rotary wall phone was...
A busy two days... A very grand inspection for a 70 year old home. Only a few major things need to be fixed and several basic ascetic things but many cosmetic things will be left alone. Today was a $1500 broken pipe that being a drain pipe - who knows how long it has been broken. All the water went into the crawl space - tripping the sump pump now and then - I did wonder why it kicked on during a dry day but never considered a broken pipe. Some electrical work will be done - as nobody will loan money without the repairs being up to code. Although things are safe - building codes change over the years.. The realtor was grand too... Telling my sister and I the things that seal a sale, the things that nearly everyone will change to make the house their home and..
As we patch the holes in the walls by removing pictures and things I noticed this section the wall was never painted the current color. I remember the old rotary wall phone before my parents upgraded it to a touchtone phone and then the last 20 years an old analog wireless phone.. I mention it that way as if you had an old scanner (no longer available to be purchased) you could listen to the conversation in front of the house. Although that last phone went from the old landline to VoIP - it worked well for my parents.
Things are slowly coming along..
