Unfamiliar produce
I'd left my car over at a friend's apartment yesterday after a lunch which went on later than originally anticipated. So I had to use public transport this morning to go back over to pick it up. I got the number 27 bus in to town and the number 120 out to his place, a new development in Pelletstown, near Ashtown in north-west Dublin.
One great thing about using public transport is that you notice so much more than you do when driving. This shop window was right beside the setdown stop for the number 27 in Talbot Street. The shop sign reads 'Dobro Polski Sklep', and is just one of the many shops which have recently sprung up around Dublin to serve the ever-increasing East European community.
So this is the image I've chosen to start this Journal. It epitomises the new face of Dublin which I hope to record here, and it also introduces you all to me, since that is obviously me, the photographer, reflected in the window.
