Lesson three - Carpentry Evening Class

Having learnt how do T Joints and cross joints, dovetail joints and mortise and tenon joints, we are now starting on our own projects.

I have decided to make a bedside table with a shelf. Having marked out all the bits of wood, our teacher cut it on the bandsaw, saving hours of work and frustration. I don't seem to be able to saw a totally straight cut!!
The rest of the lesson was marking up the 16 tenon joints, ready for cutting next week. I gather, to save time, as we only have two more lessons, we can do the joints on a machine. Phew.
