Fort Louvois

We went out today, to get away from dust, cleaning, painting etc and found ourselves here. The bridge you can see in the background is from the mainland to the Île d’Oleron, and we’ve often driven over it and looked down at the fort thinking that we should go there sometime!
We did think of walking out as the tide was out but the walkway was very slippery, and we didn’t fancy sliding over the edge!
