LGI to AI

Another busy, busy day. Accompanied E to the LGI with the effervescent Barry, to explore parts of the original building, taking some photographs for a talk she intends to give later in the year. I don't think I'd appreciated the scale of the hospital before. You're not aware of its full vastness when arriving by ambulance and only semi-conscious. After a talk about travelling on China railways (it's utterly astonishing how much high-speed rail has been built in the last 15 years), I met up with my ML/AI team for a few beers and some food, to brainstorm some ideas and generally discuss the future of the world. I love being around these incredibly smart, young minds, and from different parts of the word too - Algeria/Latvia, Lebanon and Greece. Their brains are full of so many different languages yet they are all completely fluent in English. A very stimulating evening.

At one point, S astonished me by bringing out a portable white board and a marker pen, to scribble down some ideas. What a brilliant idea. I think it could catch on. Paper. Amazing.
