Striding

I am on a family history research weekend in Essex. A part of the country I don’t know at all. My grandmother was from Coggeshall and her father’s family had generations living in nearby Bocking which was where I started. Amazed to find lots of 15th and 16th century buildings that would have been familiar to them, although they are very unlikely to have lived in them.
I’m staying in Colchester for a few nights and was surprised by this 7 foot tall striding statue of a woman on the high street. Very unusual!
