Awww!
What a fabulous day at the Snow Monkey national park (one and a half hours from Matsumoto) where they feed the monkeys barley to stop them coming into the valley to eat the apples in the many orchards in the area. They bathe in a volcanic hot pool. It was a beautiful sunny day. We trekked up a snowy and icy path 45 minutes each way but worth it! The monkeys were unconcerned by the visitors snapping away. Extra shows just a selection of many pictures taken. The main is a mother with a very young baby.
Then we had lunch in Obuse and a visit to the Hokusai Museum, the famous artist who painted the Wave. He lived in Obuse in later life.
A memorable day, a fitting end to a great holiday. Train to Tokyo tomorrow and flight home the next day.
