In the park

Forced myself to go for a walk, so uninviting when it’s this biting cold, and dark grey. Intended to send off a parcel, but the queue was almost out the door at the Post Office. I suppose a spin-off of our buy online world - some will be returns I guess, and I’m sure there’s a percentage of eBay, Vinted etc sellers too. Plus ordinary parcels to friends, like mine. Anyhow, another day will be ok.
To walk further I went around the park - a functional park for sports teams, tennis courts, children’s play area. But a few nice trees and borders. What struck me as nicest of all was this mural of the lifecycle of a butterfly, on the side of some ugly old building. Nice to think we will be seeing them again - eventually…
Continuing with experiments in food, and their effects on my blood sugar and levels of energy. And continuing battles with the squirrel, who will not give up. More plastic bottles deployed to keep it off the feeders, today I won.  But he always outsmarts me eventually.
In the evening, the Orkney/Bristol film club watched ‘Black Dog’ a strange but rather wonderful film (to me - the others less keen) about a depopulated town in the far north of China, which is overrun by stray dogs; and the strong bonds which can exist between dogs and humans.
