Gloomy...

After a brief sunshine interlude yesterday afternoon, the gloom was back with a vengeance. And rain. And very cold. Quite a busy day with visiting family - sorting milk and bread etc for my sis when they get from their holiday later on. School work + making a tasty tomato/red onion/red pepper/butterbean soup & then a drive out to see what I could find in the gloom.

I saw a few crossbills again, and as I was on my way home, I spotted this shortie just sitting on a post near the road. It sat there for quite a while which gave me change to adjust the settings to silly exposure and shutter speed because of how gloomy it was.

I'm quite surprised that the photos I took turned out quite well. :)  

Viewed in large, if you can, is much better.
