We’ve had a long-running problem with our electricity meter. It is - or was - a smart meter. A smart meter that the energy company insisted we had to have. And that promptly broke completely.
Anyway, after 12 months of me regularly pestering them and a formal complaint we finally managed to get an engineer visit. He took one look, pronounced it kaput (I know!) and replaced part of the meter. And today we could see that it is actually working.
