Cheriton Road

Finished my active travel course today and went out to do my homework for it.
This is my local high street which has two driving lanes and two parking lanes. Cyclists usually ride on the pavement cause of the traffic and it’s generally noisy, polluted and unpleasant for pedestrians.
We could think differently about how to use our street spaces… maybe have just one lane for motor vehicles going one-way and regular parking bays, leaving room for 2 way cycle lane, bike share facilities and wide pavements with cafe seating and vegetation.
I know people love their cars, but we need nicer spaces to make non-car travel more attractive.
