Papers to keep
I went through a few file boxes today to find what I will feel comfortable about dumping. A motley collection of first to final drafts of papers, copies of journal articles, and similar. Most I still want to keep; but perhaps 10% is not of any purpose and will go.
I read my presentation to the annual meeting of the ASMS union (as President) from 1991. We faced the same behaviour from the Bolger Government as we seeing now from the Luxon (apologies, the Seymour) Government. Only difference is that Jim Bolger exerted control, and much settled down. This time the PM (Luxon) has been reduced to Seymour's bag carrier, and bleating that Seymour shouldn't upset him. He has the power to dismiss Seymour, but he won't do so because that would result in him losing the Prime Ministership. Personal 'glory' is more important to him than is the good of the country.
