Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Motörhead - The Train Kept A-Rollin' (1977)
(from Motörhead)
Tiny Bradshaw's 1951 recording of The Train Kept A-Rollin' might have been forgotten by now had not the Johnny Burnette Trio revived it in rockabilly form in 1956 to great success. Jeff Beck introduced the song to the Yardbirds in 1965 and their version led to many covers, including their own re-write for the film Blow-Up as Stroll On. Screaming Lord Sutch and Aerosmith are just two of those who covered it. Until today, when Cerys Matthew opened her R6M show with it, I didn't know that Lemmy had recorded it on Motörhead's self-titled 1977 album.
