Acceptable Graffiti
There’s graffiti and graffiti and this floral one I suppose fits into the OK category. Yesterday I saw 2 vans and 4 yellow coated workmen - 3 standing observing while the 4th one wielded a very long brush to remove some mindless scribbling on a university property at the corner of Middle Meadow Walk and George Square. With the backup that was there I had hope that they might tackle some of the other daubings on the stone walls but it didn’t happen.
The general gloom of the morning eventually gave way to welcome sunshine but oh my goodness it felt so cold in the SE wind.
After sitting in the sun(inside) for coffee with the Merry Widows in the morning, I felt obliged to have a walk round the ‘hood’ in the afternoon for some exercise. There were lovely clumps of snowdrops under the trees on Melville Drive. I can’t remember seeing any there before, I wonder if someone has planted them recently. The crocuses were beginning to show themselves- not many but the yellow ones were leading the way. I bought a book at a charity shop in Nicolson Street which made the expedition worthwhile but I was glad to scuttle back home to my virtual log fire and my hot water bottle.
