Rowing on the Caledonian Canal
Slidey-seat rowing today in our lovely Stampfli quad scull.
Initially we headed downstream under the Torvean road bridge which was a mistake as the canal was frozen beyond and we came to a crunching halt in the thin ice. No damage to boat / just a few worrying moments.
It required a delicate reversal and a spin round to row up the canal the other way where we encountered no ice at all.
