My day

Mono Monday

…not on theme which is ugly. I only clean the silver every 5-10 years, the last time was when my Mother was still alive and living with us. I set her up to clean ‘her’ silver. She was going blind with macular degeneration and she spread silver polish all over the kitchen. It was a right mess. She didn’t know and thought she had done a good job. Last week I found a silver cutlery set belonging to my brother, so cleaned it and posted it away. I decided to leave the cleaning gear out and do one or two items a day. This was my favourite piece of Mum’s and was pretty tarnished. I gave it a wash afterwards and haven’t quite dried it off in the photo. I did get this years ago and keep my spoon collection in it. Why on earth did I collect silver spoons?

This morning we tootled off to the Services NSW office to organise my paperwork for a temporary disabled parking sticker. Well it was chockerblock. I got in the door but Bob didn’t so went back to sit in the car. It was a long wait for what should have been a 2 minute job. We then went to get a few groceries. I also did a few minutes gardening pulling out long lawn runners from the flower beds. It’s good that just a few minutes makes a difference, of course I would be happy spending hours out there, not minutes.
