Loch Awe steamers

Most of the larger lochs in Scotland had steamers and piers serving the populations of villages on the shores before the age of buses and cars. From 1880 the Oban railway trains halted at Loch Awe station from where steamers sailed  to various place on Loch Awe, such as Ford village and Port Sonachan  Hotel the latter with its own steamer collecting visitors from the station. The used postcards both sent in the early 1900s show two of the early steamers and their backstory.
