Cromer Beach
The tap which caused all the problems last night seems to be holding for now but we'll get the plumber to replace it next week. I ordered a new one online and drove over to Screwfix at Cromer to collect it. It's remarkably similar in style to the existing one but looks a lot better quality; no doubt the builders got away with something cheap and cheerful when installing the kitchen.
While I was there I drove down to the front with the intention of getting a blip shot. As I drove into the car park there was an old Morris Minor parked on its own, the owners feeding seagulls out of the window. With a backdrop of a holiday caravan park in the distance it could have made a great '1950's style' shot but I couldn't get parked and out of the car in time - they had driven off. So instead, it's a classic view of the pier.
The local Council have been doing some defensive works on the beach near the pier which involves placing lots of granite boulders next to the sea wall to dissipate the waves. The little 'island' of rocks in my thumbnail is, according to the Council, a 'Bird Island' which is supposed to add interest to the sea front and be a tourist attraction. Cynical locals prefer to think they over-ordered the granite and have nowhere else to put it.
