Many a Flower……..

It was another cold, bleak day with some snow flurries; in fact it was so cold and bleak that the 8 am swim was cancelled and I got another long lie in a warm bed.

I was out and about by 9am to book a table at Söderberg for a family meal when the Yorkshire family arrive on Thursday and it would have been rude not to have stayed to have a coffee as well before going forth  to food shop. The students seem to be having a reading week this week as my walk to Nicolson Street through George Square was largely devoid of people. It doesn’t happen very often so it’s remarkable to have the street to myself.

I thought I had seen it all until this afternoon when out taking the air and some exercise I walked behind a Chinese Student with a cat in a see- through rucksack on her back. After the initial surprise, I thought ‘why not?’ The girl had left the zip at the top open just enough for the cat/kitten to get some air. Goodness knows where she was going with it though….. the vet perhaps? There’s a limit to what you can do with a cat when you are out socialising although there is a couple living somewhere near me who take their cat for a walk on a lead.
