2 miles, at about 3 miles an hour

Sometime ages ago I mentioned a single remaining milestone on the route of the A701 that still featured its metal plate. I was on the bus this morning for an office day and while we crawled through the traffic I managed to snap this photo of it. It sits on Liberton Brae and seems well cared for.

The bus journey plus a load of extra walking I hadn't bargained on meant it took me about an hour and a half just to get into town. In podcast* terms, that's an entire episode. I once cycled it in under 23 minutes.

Random Colleague was in but we were both so busy on and off that we managed to miss each other entirely.

By late afternoon my ribs were sore so I packed up my much-too-heavy bag and headed out. I went to John Lewis briefly to check out their haberdashery but was sufficiently underwhelmed that I will just buy online. I'm not in a mega rush, really. Then it was even more walking to get a bus, any bus. The fancy X62 to Galashiels sped past as I was between stops and I was annoyed to miss it, because it has legroom and comfortable seats, but then it was delayed at the next stop and I managed to catch it up and jump onboard.

Home in the dark with a headache arriving so everything is back to normal. I did nearly 10,000 steps today too, which is maybe why my ribs hurt.
