Phloem Bundles
Remember xylem and phloem in plants and trees?
Strings of phloem bundles, seen above on the inside of a peel, help distribute nutrients up and down a growing banana.
Yesterday’s new word/concept was “albedo” describing an amount of reflective light. High albedo occurs sunshine is reflected off of white snow, making things very bright, and the air temperature cold. If the snow is dirty (dark), it absorbs sunlight, radiates into the ground and warms the air temperature. That would be low albedo. We have a newish local weatherman who explains these interesting things.
