Hoi An

Hoi An is my favourite place so far. It has a French colonial feeling old town with hundreds of tailors and Chinese lanterns. I had to do a whistle stop experience as I was diving the second day.

We went for a great breakfast at the Cargo Club (Eggs Benedict), then I went to the tailor to choose fabrics and a design for a coat which was fun. Then shopping, quick hotel break and a boat trip down the river. We saw fisherman, beautiful scenery and I had a ride in a local bamboo raft in which I got serenaded by the owner.

The town looks even more spectacular at night once the latterns at the waterfront are on. We ate underneath some at a riverside restaurant. Bliss.
