A Historical Day for Christchurch

I spent time today at Wigram which 20 odd years ago was an active Air Force base on the south part of our city. Now there is an amazing Museum there, and many new homes have covered old runway. Today one of our 60 yr old Hercules flew back to Christchurch. It flew onto the old runway which is now a park. It took a lot of planning, and finally today several thousand people watched it fly in. It is to be stored in the Museum. My blip shows many cars who had real problems parking. And in the background our Hercules coming in low over the city.
Extra photo is just as the Herc landed, a huge cloud of dust, huge noise as engines were thrust into reverse, and a poor rabbit wondering what all the commotion was.
