The Meldons

I went there as a boy with my mum and dad to build dams in the burn and have picnics... I loved it. in the middle of nowhere, with just the sheep for company. So, since we were going to the borders for a family do, we decided to take the wee CEO to the Meldons for a picnic... And to build a dam in the burn.

The water was refreshing (read: freezing) in flipflops, but the wee guy didn't mind. We built some pretty awesome dams... We had water diverted all over the place. Our first effort was so good, it turned into a weir. And we only had one dude falling in... Typically it was next to our weir... And pretty deep. But it didn't dampen spirits.

It was great fun. Although I'm sure our dam was the most intricately designed dam ever...
