Stone of the day

They're pedestrianising in Leith, which ironically means they've closed a pavement and diverted folks through a private car park behind some flats. On the flip side, that does mean I spotted this stone corbel poking out of a wall in the carpark today. It's one of a row, all with traces of peeling pale paint, and must have supported an upper floor or roof. But of what? I don't know but did find an old map showing a building on the site so I'm not imagining things.

Between Coalhill and Henderson Street.

Extra of a slender stone pier inside one of the former warehouses on Commercial Street. Over 200 years old and still going strong. Literally.
