Smoking!

The compost (sorry, the Organic Farm Manure) was being delivered this afternoon so I headed up to the allotment. It was far too chilly to just be hanging about, despite me still wearing my full winter golf gear after an early morning game, so I set to work getting the annual bonfire going before raking up all the dead leaves I could find and piling them onto the flames. Which put paid to the flames for a while but generated a fair old column of smoke. Happily it mostly drifted across the allotments and not the park but the odd shift in wind caught me out a couple of times so my smoke-reeking clothes went straight into the washing machine when I got home. By the time the compost/manure arrived and I’d wheelbarrowed it all from the main gate to our plot there was just a small pile of ash left. The rain will wash that in tomorrow, the compost spreading can wait.
Not long back from The Lioness of Leith having decided to re-visit and try their food. They do burgers and not much else but I have to say my slaw-slathered chicken burger was excellent. My second pint was Guinness 0.0 as usual - apparently it can have 0.05% alcohol though so it seems they’ve rounded down.
