View From our Stork Pole

The early light was utterly beautiful, I wandered around in my slippers, getting them and my pyjama hems wet, taking photos, and of course, now, can't decide which one to Blip...

The hillside opposite us was bought from the local headmaster quite a while ago, by Luís, a guy who lives in Lisbon, and says he's going to build an eco lodge. So far he's managed the gate you see and a sort of road up to where the present building is.

As we have found out, come to the Alentejo if you want to cultivate patience.

Gratefuls:
- most of the books and other bits back on the freshly painted shelves, hurray! and a big box for the library
- even managed a walk at sundown after we'd more or less finished
- getting a wash done, dried on the line (which you see, tied to the stork pole), and eating lunch outside in the sunshine
