Space Utilization in Manhattan

Today, I tried a new coffee shop in my NYC neighborhood.

The coffee shop -- aptly called "Joe" -- has pint-sized offices strategically placed behind its sliding chalkboard signs. A sliding wooden ladder allows the shop's nimble managers to climb up and hop on a computer without taking up valuable customer seating below.
