Iolo and the whale

The theatre was packed out for a talk by Iolo Williams, the very popular Welsh naturalist who's often on TV.

 In fact it was a local marine biologist took us through the cetaceans that visit us, from harbour porpoises to last year's hump-backed whale while Iolo supplied  humorous anecdotes about his own encounters with them along with information from his immense knowledge of the marine world.

Half the audience were junior pupils from the secondary school  - full of questions and buzzing with excitement.  To demonstrate the dimensions of the whale Iolo brought more and more of them on stage while he paced out its length against the line of children.
