The Clock

This has been doing the rounds for a few years, started at the White Cube in London but I have never seen it. It’s an extraordinary piece of work, a 24 hour film that moves through the day via shots of watches and clocks in scenes.  That makes it sound a bit ho hum but it’s gripping!  The tension and the use of clocks and time itself is inspired and great fun.  We were in from 1040 to about 1215 and had to tear ourselves away.  The build up to noon, HIgh Noon of course was brilliant.

We then went to a South Indian restaurant, Pongal to meet a friend of Vik’s who works at the New Yorker and talked about the state of the nation of course.  I then peeled off to Ludlow House to have a cup of tea with Claire, an old school friend.  Fun catching up.  V joined us and then he and I went back to John Derian to buy a present to take to dinner.

Dinner with V’s brother and family at their huge house on the Upper East Side.  It was a lovely evening and we took an Uber back through the frosty night
