Humbling

Wonderful informative, educational trip to Robben Island.  The first part of the tour was conducted by an amazing tour guide who told the history in such an interesting way.  The second part was by a previous in-mate of the prison - jailed for 5 years aged 19 for student activism.

The photo shows the ‘work’ the inmates were required to do - breaking rocks for 8 hours every day.  We stood in the same courtyard.  

Back to the Waterfront for a glass of wonderful SA wine and a delicious early dinner in the sun, overlooking table mountain.

OH had a few tears thinking about Aimee and how she would have loved Cape Town.  She had visited SA when working for SAGA and enjoyed a safari and visit to Victoria Falls but we both miss not being able to tell her about our adventures.
