Winter Word
Our first day at this year's Winter Words got off to a good start with breakfast with Alan Cumming (who is the new Artistic Director) (and a good few other people it has to be said). This was followed by a Q&A session in the studio theatre were shared some of his aspirations for the theatre including making it a space for more community events. He also dropped some tantalising hints about next year's summer season without giving too much away.
We returned after lunch for a "A Room of One's Own" - a dramatisation of two lecturers which Virginia Woolf gave in 1929. It was a one woman performance and held my attention throughout.
We are going to four more events tomorrow (plus a special evening session) and fiver more on Sunday - we got slightly carried away buying tickets, taking advantage of members' discounts and multi-buy deals. Will be fun and interesting.
