(052) Alhambra
Opening in 1922, the Alhambra Theatre was at the time the largest brick building in Dunfermline. It has served as theatre, cinema and bingo hall before closing around 2007. In 2008 it reopened and has remained in use as a theatre since then. I don't think I have ever been inside the place and today was no different as I was just out walking to kill some time.
Today's extra: Just up the road is the former Cinema House on Viewfield Place which opened in 1922. After several incarnations, the opening of an Odeon multiplex led to the closure of the last of Dunfermline’s traditional cinemas. It was converted into a short lived nightclub and the building remains unused since then .
