Sunday Surprise

My door bell rang at 8am this morning and ripped me out of the slumber I finally succumbed to sometime after the sun was rising. A consequence of not having my family at home is that I often have trouble sleeping and tend to stay up all night reading. Such was the case this weekend. And I wasn't expecting to have to wake up early, since my husband had told me he'd be home with the kids sometime early afternoon.

Liar :) They all got up by 4am and hit the road early enough to bring me breakfast. It was a wonderful surprise, as I've really missed my kids! So for the first time since mid-June all six of us sat around the dining table to enjoy a leisurely meal and catch up with each other.

The rest of the day I did more research and learning for my job until friends came over for dinner around 6, which we ate outside on the terrace. The night ended with a few rounds of cards and a very content and tired Mommy!
