Allensford

Today we visited Allensford - a small country park close to Consett in County Durham.  Although it is only 13 miles from where I live I haven't visited it for years and years.  The last time was when my son was about 3 and he is now 33!  Where does the time go.

We had a nice walk by the river.  It was a lovely sunny morning and although there was a breeze it was not cold.  We then decided to visit an nearby waterfall.  Bad idea!  The track to it was covered in mud.  We eventually had to turn back as we were slipping all the over the place.  Our walking boots were filthy along with my trousers and I even had mud on my coat.  We will return in the summer.  

Very grateful to Mr YB who cleaned my walking boots for me.
