Helsington and the Bridges

The sun was out and the "bridges" are open . Mr P and I did a round trip -  Scout Scar, Underbarrow Bridge, Brigsteer Bridge and Helsington Barrows for a couple of  walks. . Two walks because I had some geocaching admin to do and Mr P was happy to accompany me because the sun was out. Hooray. He's walking carefully with a pole because his arm is still in plaster. 
I'm not sure if I've mentioned the bridges before. Two 1960s concrete bridges over the dual carriageway between us and Kendal, were closed by the Council, unexpectedly many months ago.  Vital lifelines for folks in the villages in our valley  The council thought they were unsafe.  To cut a long story and a lot of public meetings,  short the bridges have opened again to vehicles of less than 3 tons mgw. ( see extra)   Mr Ps heavy but and medium size  EV weighs 2+  tons . We used the Panda today- much less than 3 tons. But I expect some monster EVs will be more than 3 tons and who's checking.?
